Exceptional Stoneware Flask with Profuse Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, wheel-thrown flask with flattened sides and tall neck with tooled spout. Decorated on both sides with a large brushed cobalt clover plant design. Outstanding form, decoration, and color. Possibly the finest Baltimore stoneware flask known. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Two spout chips. 1 1/2" hairline from spout. H 8 3/4".
