Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "CLARK & Co. / ROCHESTER", New York State origin, circa 1850, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized stump with flowering plant extending to the right. Slip-trailed "3" to shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Professionally-restored handle with restoration extending onto spout. Some fry to cobalt.
