Unusual Three-Gallon Fleischmans, NY Stoneware Advertising Crock with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a chicken pecking kernels of corn from a stylized ground. Shoulder impressed with the unusual advertising, "CALVIN CROSBY / GROCER / FLEISCHMANS N.Y.". Cobalt highlights to advertising and capacity mark. Very nice condition with two chips and a nick to rim and some water glass staining to interior.
