Three Flint Enamel Book Flasks, attributed to Lyman, Fenton & Co., Bennington, VT., circa 1849-1852, one with brown and glaze to cover and heavy blue glaze to pages, marked "TRAVELER'S COMPANION"; one with brown and orange glaze, marked "DEPARTED SPIRITS"; and one with brown, orange, and blue glaze, marked "Fenton's ENAMEL / 1849 / PATENTED", also stamped with an ampersand on underside. Provenance: Robert Meltzer Collection. Traveler's Companion flask in excellent condition. Departed Spirits flask in excellent condition. Signed example in very nice condition with a small chip to edge of cover, a minor nick to one corner, possibly in-the-firing, and some minor scratches to surface. H (of signed example) 6".
