Rare Stoneware Face Harvest Jug, Stamped "BROWN POTTERY", Arden, NC origin, 20th century, beehive-form with applied tubular spouts and arching handle, the front decorated with a hand-modeled and applied clay face featuring bulging eyes and an open mouth with porcelain teeth. Albany-slip-glazed interior. Impressed "BROWN POTTERY" on shoulder. Exceptional form. A tight crack extending across underside and approximately 4" up side of jug. H 10".
