Rare Spongeware Figure of a Frog, Midwestern origin, late 19th century, molded in the form of a seated frog, featuring a buttoned coat with collar and details to face, the surface decorated with sponged cobalt throughout. Hollow interior. The first example of its kind we have seen. Excellent condition with a few chips to original circular opening on underside. H 4 1/4".
