Unusual Five-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Incised Floral Decoration, Ohio origin, mid 19th century, keg-form cooler with raised banding and squared bung hole, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted floral design featuring tulips and clover-shaped blossoms, accented with incised dashes throughout. Incised and cobalt-highlighted "5" to shoulder. Top with original carved pouring hole and smaller air hole. Very nice condition with chips to top edge and a small in-the-firing lime ping to underside. H 16".
