Very Rare Slip-Decorated Redware Plate with Three-Color Swirl Decoration, Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, the interior decorated with a continuous circle trail of wavy green copper slip, overlaid with four brown manganese slip stripes. A visually-striking, kaleidoscopic design. Underside inscribed in pencil "From Edna Smith / Quakertown / Local". Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Excellent condition with a few very minor rim chips and minor surface wear to interior. Diameter 7 7/8".
