Very Rare Miniature Glazed Redware Spittoon, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA, circa 1860, wheel-thrown, circular form with rounded foot, opening at center on top, and carved opening on side. Glazed with streaks of manganese over an orange ground with clear lead overglaze. Impressed on side with John Bell maker"s mark. Exceptional size. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Light glaze wear and chip on edge of opening at top. Height 1 7/8" ; Width at base 2 7/8".
