Rare and Fine Quart-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, ovoid pitcher with footed base and short collar, profusely-decorated with cobalt swags flanking a central hanging tulip. Additional swag decoration on left and right sides of pitcher's body. Additional swag decoration to each side of the collar and flanking the spout. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent size, form, decoration, and color. A restored top-to-bottom crack from rim on right side of pitcher, including restoration to area of base and an adjacent area on underside. H 7".
