Rare Large-Sized Rockingham Foot Warmer, Stamped "A. HALL & SONS / No 1 / Perth Amboy, N.J.", circa 1870, molded oblong form with finely-molded handles and stepped filling spout, the surface decorated with a streaked reddish-brown glaze over an orange ground. Impressed with large A. Hall & Sons maker's mark on underside. Few signed examples from this pottery are known. Very nice condition. A small chip to one corner. Otherwise minor flaws: a small glazed-over chip to another corner, expected minor wear to another corner, and a minor flake to underside near edge. L 14 1/2" ; W 6 3/4".
