Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed Diamond Decoration, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN", Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated across the shoulder with three impressed diamonds featuring column-patterned interiors. Dipped iron-oxide wash to shoulder and base. Restored handle. Thin spider cracks to surface. Glazed-over 2 3/4" gash at base. A glazed-over base chip on reverse.
