Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a parrot flanked by leaves with tornado-shaped flourish to the right. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with a faint line on top surface of spout, probably in-the-firing, and a thin in-the-firing flake to edge of spout.
