Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1825, ovoid pitcher with short, flaring collar and footed base, decorated around the shoulder with a wavy vine bearing splayed leaves and flower blossoms with open-centered petals. Additionally decorated below with a vine featuring leaves and circular blossoms. Brushed swags around rim. Heavy cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Impressed "3" to front of spout. Exceptional size and strong decoration. Professional restoration to spout and a 2 1/2" section of rim on pitcher's left side. A 6 3/4" hairline on right side of pitcher, extending 5" onto underside. A 5/8" stone ping to front. A 2" chipped section to foot. Two other chips to foot. H 14 1/2".
