Extremely Rare One-Pint Stoneware Jug with Coggled Decoration, Stamped "MADE BY J. LETTS / SOUTH AMBOY", New Jersey origin, circa 1810, ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a coggled oval and asterisk design around the shoulder. Coggled below with the maker's mark of Joshua Letts of South Amboy, NJ. Exceptional size and condition and rare early New Jersey maker's mark. This jug is the smallest signed example of South Amboy stoneware we have ever seen. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 8".
