Rare Diminutive Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Inscription, "ANNA Pottery", Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna, IL, circa 1880, highly-ovoid jug with footed base and tooling to shoulder and spout, the shoulder featuring the stenciled cobalt signature "ANNA POTTERY" with salt-glazed surface. Anna products bearing this form of signature are considered rare, and this jug, potted in an appealing small size, is the first piece signed in this manner that we have ever offered. Handle missing, possibly an in-the-firing loss. Chip to underside at bottom edge. Chip to reverse side of spout. H 6".
