Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Rooster Pecking Corn Decoration, atrributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated a slip-trailed design of a rooster with comb, wattle, and plumed tail, pecking kernels of corn from a stylized ground. Thin crack on underside, continuing onto base area of reverse. Approximately 5" hairline from rim on reverse. Rim chips. Staining to right side of crock. Long tight hairline to front.
