Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug, Stamped "J.M. PRUDEN / ELIZABETH-NJ", mid 19th century, decorated with a slip-trailed design of two swags flanking a large, stylized flower blossom. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Includes wooden stopper. A discolored area to front. A 2 1/2" in-the-firing line at base on front, continuing 1" onto underside. A deep 1 3/8" x 1 1/8" base chip on reverse. Three short, in-the-firing lines at base on reverse. A minor, shallow base chip. A tiny nick to spout.
