One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J.W. COWDEN", Harrisburg, PA origin, circa 1861, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, the front decorated with a brushed daisy motif. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Staining to surface. Two scratches to front. A 1 3/4" Y-shaped in-the-firing separation on underside. In-the-firing crazing to underside, continuing onto base.
