Five-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Bird-on-Leaf Decoration, attributed to West Troy Pottery, West Troy, NY, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jug with tooled spout and applied handle, decorated with a very large slip-trailed design of a ring-necked bird with crest standing atop a cluster of leaves, accented with dotted trails. Cobalt highlight to capacity mark. Excellent size to jug and decoration. Remarkable, essentially as-made condition with a few small spout chips. H 18 1/2".
