Rare Redware Jug with Bold Yellow Slip Moon Decoration, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, squat-shaped jug with distinctive tooled spout and applied strap handle, decorated with three large yellow slip circles resembling the moon. Excellent color, form, and decoration. Wear to interior of rim. Some minor wear to exterior of spout and some minor losses to slip. Minor base chips. A shallow flake to base on side of jug, possibly in-the-making. H 8".
