Fine Contemporary Glazed Redware Lion in the Solomon Bell Style, Incised "BH" and "56", Billy Ray Hussey, Moore County, NC, modeled after Solomon Bell's masterpiece lion in the MESDA collection, with curled tail, heavily-incised mane, and incised details to face, mouth, and feet. Surface covered in a yellowish slip with manganese highlights and copper eyes. Excellent condition. L 8".
