Two-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped " J. SWANK & CO. / JOHNSTOWN, PA," circa 1875, finely-potted ovoid jug with distinctive Swank Pottery form, including a thin strap handle, which extends from the top edge of a tall, tubular spout. Impressed with maker's mark above a two-gallon capacity mark at shoulder. A very faint 5" surface line extending upward from base on reverse, probably in-the-firing. Otherwise excellent condition.
