Fine Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG," Pennsylvania origin, circa 1865, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a large cluster of eight grapes hanging from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent overall condition with some faint crazing to base, a shallow chip to underside at edge, and a small in-the-firing chip to side of jug near base.
