Five-Gallon Stoneware Cream Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & CO / LYONS," New York State origin, circa 1850, ovoid jar with tooled rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed tulip plant design featuring spotted blossoms and leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Sealed spider crack from rim on left side of jar's front with some small areas of painted touch-up. Two rim chips on left side of jar's front. An additional small rim chip on left side of jar. Three chips on interior of rim. Several shallow base chips, which appear to be in-the-firing.
