Fine One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled rim, decorated with a large tulip design extending from the base of the handle on both sides. Collar decorated with brushed cobalt chainlinks. Large cobalt circles around the handle terminals. Desirable form with excellent color and decoration. A chip to front of spout and two other minor spout chips (one on interior and another on the right side). Two tight hairlines in handle.
