Scarce Large-Sized Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Flowerpot, Strasburg, VA origin, circa 1890, semi-ovoid pot with attached saucer and coggled accents to rim moldings and edge of saucer. Surface decorated with streaks of cream, green, and brown over an orange clay ground. This flowerpot is potted in a larger-than-usual size with desirable ovoid form. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example from a forty-year Mid-Atlantic collection. Wear to upper edge and top of rim. Some glaze wear to interior of rim area. Glazed surface survives in excellent condition. H 9 3/4".
