Two-Gallon Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Decoration, Manhattan, NY or New Jersey origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, and open loop handles, decorated with a large cobalt circle on the front and reverse. Additional heavy circular cobalt application to the handle terminals. Visually-appealing form. Thin crack extending 1 3/8" across underside and 6" up base of jar.
