Unusual Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Peaches Decoration, Stamped "W.A. MACQUOID & CO. / POTTERY WORKS / LITTLE 12TH. ST. / NEW YORK," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decoratd with a large brushed design of a two peaches hanging from a leafy branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Visually-appealing design. Excellent overall condition with a thin 2 1/2" crack extending from rim to edge of handle on reverse, which is difficult to see.
