One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, squat-shaped jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a circular slip-trailed floral design accented with spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Jar with 2" rim chip on side of jar, as well as shallow chips and wear to inner rim for lid. Lid with small edge chips.
