Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a long-tailed bird perched on a leaf. 1 3/8" poorly-restored chip on reverse of rim. Three restored chips on interior of rim, one of which is very minor. Two contact marks on reverse.
