Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD / POTTERY CO.," circa 1859, decorated with a slip-trailed bird with turned head and long tail, perched on a slip-trailed leaf. Maker"s and capacity marks highlighted in cobalt. Excellent color. Hairline crack on side of jug. Chip on interior of spout. H 16 1/2".
