Two-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two large, boldly-brushed tulips on the front and back. Additional wavy line decoration under each handle. One of the finer examples of Grier stoneware we have ever offered. 1" chipped area to one handle. Minor in-the-firing chip to end of opposite handle.
