Six-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Starface Decoration, Stamped "T. HARRINGTON / LYONS," New York State origin, circa 1860, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a human face surrounded by eight pointed rays. Two slip-trailed 6's at shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Significant restoration to majority of churn's surface. The vast majority of cobalt decoration is untouched. Additional restoration to the handles, the extent of which is unknown, as the entire handles are painted.
