Two Pieces of Northeastern U.S. Stoneware, third quarter 19th century, a one-gallon lidded jar with cobalt foliate decoration, stamped "EDMANDS & CO," Charlestown, MA origin, with original salt-glazed lid, incised "48" on underside; paired with a two-gallon jug with cobalt flower or leaf and freehand number "2," stamped "LYONS," Thompson Harrington, Lyons, NY origin. Edmands jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Lid of Edmands jar with two edge nicks and small, U-shaped line at edge. Lyons jug with some staining, a 1" base chip on reverse, a 1 3/8" chip to underside at edge, a base nick, a salt drip to shoulder, and contact mark on side.
