Rare Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Decoration of a Dog with Basket, Stamped "HART'S/ FULTON," New York State origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a dog carrying a basket in its mouth. Folky striped and spotted detail to dog's body. Stylized stripe and looping line detail to ground. Slip-trailed "6" with flourish above dog. Significant restoration to sides of crock, also involving handles. Rim chip on reverse. Two chips and a minor nick on interior of rim. Some fry to cobalt. 5 1/4" surface line from rim on front.
