Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug, Stamped "PLINY THAYER / LANSINGBURGH," New York State origin, circa 1841-1855, ovoid jug with tapered spout and cobalt highlights to the capacity mark and scarce maker's of potter, Pliny Thayer, of Lansingburgh, NY. Some minor, gritty residue from the firing on left and right shoulder of jug. Thin crack in underside, extending a short distance up reverse and side of jug in five places. A minor base chip.
