One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a fan-tailed bird perched on a stylized branch. Heavy salt glaze to surface. Sealed 7 7/8" crack from rim on reverse. Two chips on interior of rim. 3 3/4" hairline from rim on front. Iron ping under handle.
