Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J.B. & A. MAXFIELD / MILWAUKEE," Wisconsin origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout and applied handles, decorated with a boldly-brushed tulip hanging from a leafy stem. Brushed script "3" to shoulder. Cobalt stripes through maker's mark. Exceptionally bright color. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
