Very Rare Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Date 1832, Stamped "EATON & STOUT," South River, NJ, approximately one-and-a-half-gallon jug with tooled shoulder, squared spout, and ribbed handle, decorated with the brushed cobalt date "1832" underscored by cobalt stripes or stylized leaves. Rare maker's mark of Jacob Eaton and Samuel Stout with unusual date decoration. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
