Unusual Miniature Stoneware Jar, Impressed "8X," American, 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, applied lug handle, and stepped rim molding, the surface covered in a dark-brown Albany slip glaze, the front impressed with the finely-detailed stamp "8X". Heavy chipping to foot. Shallow chip to top of rim. Minor chip to one handle and tiny nick to opposite handle. H 4 1/4".
