Six-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "C.L. WILLIAMS & CO / NEW GENEVA, PA," circa 1895, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt vine, freehand stripes throughout, and a script "6" at base. Midsection with C.L. Williams maker's stenciling flanked by wavy lines. Good color and decoration. 7" inverted Y-shaped surface line on reverse, not visible on interior. Very faint and minor 4" surface line on underside, not visible on interior. Minor worn spot to one handle. Tiny base chip and minor base chip, both possibly in-the-firing.
