One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Tulip Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid jug with squared spout and ribbed handle, decorated with two large dotted tulips flanking a cross-shaped flower blossom. Vine-like brushwork extending from lower handle terminal. Additional cobalt foliate decoration to handle. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with typical kiln furniture marks to shoulder.
