Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Cobalt Bird and Floral Decoration, New York State origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical crock with squared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a bird perched on a flower emanating from a lawn flanked by shrubs. Dotted cobalt accents throughout. Significant restoration to rim, 5" x 3" section near base, and 2" x 2" area on side of jar near base.
