One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "N. CLARK & CO. / LYONS," New York State origin, circa 1830, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a brushed cobalt "1" on front. Cobalt stripes through maker's mark. Numerous cracks emanating from base and underside. Thin cracks in handle and spout. A few tiny base chips. A small post-firing nick and two glazed-over nicks on interior of spout.
