Rare Four-Gallon Washington, D.C., Stoneware Advertising Crock, Greensboro, PA, origin, circa 1875, straight-sided crock with lug handles, decorated with cobalt stripes and twisting freehand vines. The address "E. LULLEY / 616 / PENN AVE., / WASHINGTON / D.C." stenciled in cobalt along with a stenciled "4". Handle terminals brushed with large cobalt circles. A rare example of Washington, D.C., merchant stoneware made in Western PA. In-the-making, recessed spot on front. One chip on each handle. Height 14 3/4".
