Scarce Vertical-Handled Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Watchspring Decoration, New Jersey or possibly Manhattan, NY origin, second half 18th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, tall collar, and vertical loop handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt curling "watchspring" design. Desirable, early form and decoration. A few restored base chips. Otherwise as-made condition. H 9 1/8".
