Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock, attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr., Philadelphia, PA, circa 1835, with heavily-tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an elaborate flowering vine on the front and back, along with wavy cobalt lines under each handle. Several small rim chips. A few areas of bubbling to cobalt. A few base chips. Crack on one side, extending onto underside. H 6 1/4" ; Diam. 11".
