Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Batter Pails, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, one decorated with a large brushed tulip on one side; the other decorated with cobalt highlights to the handles and spout. Larger example with a small rim chip, two minor chips to handle at base, and a short faint line in spout. Smaller example with large spidering crack, chips to spout and rim, and additional wear to base of spout. Handle at base of smaller example with some wear and a small chip.
