Rare Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Coggled Bird Decoration, attributed to the Morgan / van Wickle Pottery, Old Bridge, NJ, circa 1820, ovoid jar with rounded rim, tooled shoulder, and applied tab handles, decorated with a coggled bird-and-leaf motif around the shoulder, highlighted in cobalt. Unusual form and large size for Old Bridge stoneware. Provenance: From a forty-year private collection. Minor hairline at base. Base chips. H 15 1/4".
